Knowledge of the Absolute

बलं बलवतां चाहं कामरागविवर्जितम् ।

धर्माविरुद्धो भूतेषु कामोऽस्मि भरतर्षभ ॥११॥

balaṁ balavatāṁ cāhaṁ kāma-rāga-vivarjitam dharmāviruddho bhūteṣu kāmo 'smi bharatarṣabha

बलम् — शक्ति; बल-वताम् — बलवानों का; च — तथा; अहम् — मैं हूँ; काम — विषयभोग; राग — तथा आसक्ति से; विवर्जितम् — रहित; धर्म-अविरुद्धः — जो धर्म के विरुद्ध नहीं है; भूतेषु — समस्त जीवों में; कामः — विषयी जीवन; अस्मि — हूँ; भरत-ऋषभ — हे भरतवंशियों में श्रेष्ठ !.

Translationअनुवाद

I am the strength of the strong, devoid of passion and desire. I am sex life which is not contrary to religious principles, O Lord of the Bhāratas [Arjuna].

मैं बलवानों का कामनाओं तथा इच्छा से रहित बल हूँ | हे भरतश्रेष्ठ (अर्जुन)! मैं वह काम हूँ, जो धर्म के विरुद्ध नहीं है |

Purportतात्पर्य

The strong man's strength should be applied to protect the weak, not for personal aggression. Similarly, sex life, according to religious principles (dharma), should be for the propagation of children, not otherwise. The responsibility of parents is then to make their offspring Kṛṣṇa conscious.

बलवान पुरुष की शक्ति का उपयोग दुर्बलों की रक्षा के लिए होना चाहिए, व्यक्तिगत आक्रमण के लिए नहीं | इसी प्रकार धर्म-सम्मत मैथुन सन्तानोन्पति के लिए होना चाहिए, अन्य कार्यों के लिए नहीं | अतः माता-पिता का उत्तरदायित्व है कि वे अपनी सन्तान को कृष्णभावनाभावित बनाएँ |
